Must try food in Penang

Went Penang twice last month. With my family and also Mr.Q. Penang is famous as a place which full with nice food, but I think the quality of these nice food nowadays had gone down if compare with last time :(  Kind of disappointed but no worry, still manage to find good place with good food :) Gonna share few of the places with you, I think their food is nice, maybe can get a try if you are going to Penang.

Char Koay Teow @ Kafe Heng Huat, located at Lorong Selamat.

You can easily spot this restaurant when you turn into Lorong Selamat, it is located beside a parking field. Look at the price, the cheapest is RM7.50, freaking expensive right? But I have to say, it is worth for the price. Seriously.

This is it! The size is same as usual, but there are 4 big prawns and also 腊肠 inside. I can feel the prawn dancing inside my mouth...LOL! Taste of it can't be describable, it is just AWESOME NICE!!!

77 Food Yard. It is opposite Balai Polis Pulau Tikus. I am not sure with the operation time, but I went there in the early morning. There is a market beside it, so the traffic was jam and hard to get parking. Most of the stall inside this restaurant are nice, can give them a try.

Recommend Duck Soup Mee Sua. Actually you can choose between mee, meehun and meesua base on your own favorite. Their  soup steamed separately in single contained. Look at the picture you can see the ingredient they used are quiet alot and the duck drumstick is big. The taste of the soup is rich, normally you can finish everything if you don't hate chinese herb. And it is only cost RM4 per bowl, much more cheaper than KL.

Chee Cheong Fan. In Penang, they use shrimp paste instead of sweet sauce. It is really unique and I tried many different stall and found out this is the nicer. Some of their shrimp paste taste sour but this is just nice .For those who like shrimp paste, must give it a try :)

Asam laksa is my love!!!! I only found 2 which I really think is nice. Those in Gurney Drive really ...... disappointed!

This is located @ Pasar Air Itam which near Kek Lok Shi Temple. You can spot this when you are on the way going to Kek Lok Shi.  They prepare tonnes of mee and 1827654 pots of soup. So you can imagine how good their business is! The soup is nice and they gave us alot of fish! I personally think that if the soup can be more spicy will be better.

The most famous Chendul @ Penang Road! You can see the long queue from far. The coconut milk is the main reason to make it so famous I think. I can smell the coconut milk while I am holding a bowl of it. When it is mixed with other ingredients and ice, you can feel the *syoik* when you put it into your mouth and it goes down to your stomach through your throat.  ~ sound so complicated...LOL~  Oh ya...they are also selling a herbal drink which named * 崩大碗*... it taste bitter but is good  on reduce heat in our body.

Am enjoying the Chendul :) Btw, there are no seat provided for you to have your Chendul, most of them are standing at the roadside to have it. If you wish to sit down, there is a restaurant beside the Chendul stall. But you need to pay 50 cents to the restaurant owner for every bowl of Chendul . The aunty is very irritating, she will keep asking you to left the place if you've finish eating. You can either ignore her or eat slowly. HAHA... Since I had pay for my Chendul to get a seat, so I ordered Asam Laksa again. Just too in love with it.

It taste slightly different with the first time I tried it years ago, but still can pass la.... It is spicy enough to meet my need and the soup is rich enough.

So that's all ! If you are going to Penang, give them a try ~~~ Or any of you know any other nice food? Share with me kay? So I can try it next time :)  Enjoy Food. Enjoy Life.
